About

The Rosamond West Solar project is a proposed 447.3 MW hybrid solar and battery energy storage project located in Kern County, California. The development project consists of a 299.6 MW solar photovoltaic array coupled with a 147.7 MW battery energy storage system. The project is interconnected to Southern California Edison (SCE) and is in the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) interconnection queue as queue ID CAISO-506, with an original queue entry date of July 31, 2009.

The proposed commercial operation date is March 31, 2029. An Interconnection Agreement (IA) has been executed for the project on August 5, 2020. The point of interconnection (POI) is the Whirlwind Substation at 230kV. The Rosamond West Solar project has been the subject of recent news coverage.
